Yuri the Mouse is born this 12th Day of December!

Yuri doesn't exactly look like the pattern below, but I think he is still darn cute!  Despite the language barrier, I did understand the instructions! The Google translator used words such as Knit as opposed to Crochet....and I did figure out that K meant decrease.  Like I said...if you have made many Amigurumi in your day, you will have no problem understanding the gist of the pattern :)

Also....she has photos that help with the language barrier!!! Woo Hoo! I feel so accomplished.  I designed my first Amigurumi piece.  Mr. Gingerbread Man was easy to make.

I made this sweet little guy for a friend's grandson. She told me she has ducks on her farm and her grandson is so intrigued by them.  Now he has a reminder of grandma's ducks at his house :)

Reindeer for William

This little guy I made this year for my grandson's stocking.  It was a bit time consuming and requires a small hook, which ultimately makes my hands ache. But I think all and all it was a fun project.  I  just think I'll use a larger hook next time.

Since the time I made this cutie, I have changed my strategy a bit in attaching body parts.  Now I use just a simple needle and matching thread.  I think this method hides the seam a bit better than the yarn you leave on the piece...and is far less bulky.

I was so mad at myself for messing up the quilting. The back of this quilt is a train wreck! Hence it is now a wall hanging instead of a quilt to snuggle in.  BUT....I did find a great tutorial to help me to prevent the back from puckering next time.  Who knew to use a spray baster! Voila problem solved!!!

Have fun with this quilt! It is a great way to make a dent in the pile of scraps we all hoard!! Heh...admitting we have a problem is the first step toward recovery. : )
